TENA Men Active Fit Pants Plus: Incontinence Pants for Men, Small to Medium
Incontinence pants for men help you stop thinking about whether a pad has shifted, because the garment itself is the protection. TENA Men Active Fit Pants pull on like ordinary underwear in a navy, masculine cut with a soft elastic waistband, and they are published for heavy urine leakage rather than the light leaks a pad is built for.
This is the Small to Medium size, which covers a hip measurement of 75 to 105 cm, and there are nine to a pack. Please send our pharmacist your hip measurement in centimetres before you order, because the sizes overlap with the larger pack and a pant that is a size out leaks at the leg or rolls at the waist.
Measuring for the Right Size
Take a tape measure round the widest part of the hips, over light clothing, and send us the number. Small to Medium covers 75 to 105 cm and the larger size covers 95 to 130 cm, so there is a real overlap between them and in that overlap your shape matters as much as the figure.
A pant that is too big gapes at the leg opening, and the leg is where it will then leak. One that is too small rolls down at the waist and is uncomfortable within an hour. Tell us the measurement and whether you carry weight at the waist or the hip, and we will choose with you. If you are coming from another brand, please do not assume the size carries across.
Pants or Pads? The Honest Comparison
Both have their place, and the choice is about how much you leak and when.
- Pads cost less per change, sit inside your own underwear and suit light to moderate leaks. They need close-fitting briefs to hold them against the body.
- Pants hold a great deal more, stay put through walking, driving and bending, and remove the worry of a pad moving. They suit heavier leaks, long days, travel and nights.
- Plenty of men use both — a pad for an ordinary day at a desk, pants for a journey, a wedding, a long meeting, or a night when they want to sleep without checking.
- Ask us if you are unsure, because we would rather sell you one pack of the right product than three of the wrong one.
Wearing Incontinence Pants for Men
They go on and come off like underwear, and they are worn in place of your own rather than over it: a pant worn over briefs sits away from the body and leaks at the leg. When a wet one needs to come off, the side seams tear open, so it need never be pulled down over your legs.
They are single use. Tear, fold inwards, bin it, and no part of one should be flushed. Change when it feels heavy rather than waiting for it to feel wet, and three to five changes across a day is the normal range. Wash and dry the skin before the next one goes on, which takes seconds and prevents most of the trouble that follows.
Looking After the Skin
Skin kept damp becomes sore, and sore skin takes far longer to settle than it takes to prevent. At each change, wash gently with warm water or a mild cleanser, pat dry rather than rubbing, and apply a thin layer of barrier cream if there is any redness.
Ask our pharmacist for the cream with your first order and we will show you how little to use, because a thick layer gets in the way of the pant absorbing. If soreness persists, or there is itching, a rash in the groin folds, or any discharge, please come and see us rather than carrying on, since fungal rash and urine rash look similar and are treated quite differently.
Leaking This Heavy Deserves a Diagnosis
If you have reached pants, the leakage is substantial, and that is the point at which finding the cause matters more than managing it. In men the commonest cause is the prostate, and a good many prostate problems respond to treatment, often to tablets in the first instance.
Please see our doctor rather than only buying pants if you have a weak or stop-start stream, strain to begin, dribble for a while after finishing, get up several times a night, or feel the bladder never empties. Blood in the urine, pain, fever, or a sudden inability to pass urine at all need seeing the same day. And if the leaking followed prostate surgery, come and talk to us about pelvic floor training, because leaking after surgery improves substantially in a great many men over the first months and the technique is worth having checked.
What We Can Honestly Tell You
These are the most reliable thing we sell for a man with heavy leakage who is up, dressed and getting on with his day, and the navy colour and masculine cut mean they look and feel like underwear rather than a medical product. Nine to a pack.
If your hip measurement is above 105 cm, the size you want is our TENA Men Pants Plus in L and XL. If the leaks are lighter than this, a pad will cost you much less: ask about TENA Men Active Fit Level 2 at 450 ml. And if somebody is being changed in bed rather than dressing themselves, a pant is the wrong product and an all-in-one brief is right, so ask about TENA ProSkin Slip Plus.
Is This Incontinence Pant Right for You?
Please talk to our pharmacist or our doctor before you buy if any of these apply.
- You have not measured your hips. Send us the figure. This size covers 75 to 105 cm and the larger one 95 to 130 cm.
- Leaking at the leg opening. Usually a size too large rather than too little absorbency. Let us check first.
- Rolling down at the waist. A size too small. Same conversation, the other way.
- A weak stream, straining, dribbling afterwards, getting up at night, or a bladder that never feels empty. Please see our doctor. Many prostate problems are treatable.
- Blood in the urine, pain, fever, or sudden inability to pass urine. The same day, please.
- Somebody who is changed in bed rather than dressing themselves. Ask about an all-in-one brief instead.

TENA Men Active Fit Pants Plus Small/Medium: Your Questions Answered
What size do these incontinence pants for men cover?
Small to Medium covers a hip measurement of 75 to 105 cm. The larger size covers 95 to 130 cm, so the two overlap.
How do I measure?
A tape measure round the widest part of the hips, over light clothing. Send us the figure in centimetres and we will confirm the size.
How many are in a pack?
Nine.
What level of leakage are they for?
They are published for heavy urine leakage, which is considerably more than a pad is built for. Ask our pharmacist if you want them compared with a pad.
Should I use pants or pads?
Pads cost less per change and suit light to moderate leaks. Pants hold far more, stay put through walking and driving, and suit heavier leaks, travel and nights. Plenty of men use both.
Do I wear them over my underwear?
In place of it. A pant worn over briefs sits away from the body and leaks at the leg.
How do I get a wet one off?
The side seams tear open, so it need never be pulled down over your legs. Tear, fold inwards and bin it.
Can they be washed and reused?
They are single use. Into the bin rather than the wash, and no part of one should be flushed.
How often should they be changed?
Change when it feels heavy rather than waiting for it to feel wet, and three to five changes a day is the normal range.
Mine leaks at the leg. What is wrong?
Usually a size too large, so the leg opening gapes. Let us check the measurement before you buy something heavier.
What should I do about sore skin?
Wash gently, pat dry rather than rubbing, and a thin layer of barrier cream where there is redness. If it persists, or there is a rash in the groin folds or any discharge, come and see us.
When should I see the doctor instead?
A weak or stop-start stream, straining to begin, dribbling afterwards, getting up several times a night, or a bladder that never feels empty. Blood, pain, fever or sudden inability to pass urine need the same day.
I leak since my prostate operation. Will it stay like this?
Often not. It improves substantially in a great many men over the first months, particularly with supervised pelvic floor training. Come and talk to us about the exercises.
