What This Protein Gainer Does
Olimp Profi Mass helps you build and keep muscle, with a shake that is close to half protein by weight rather than mostly carbohydrate like the gainers it sits next to. One 50 g serving gives 23 g of protein and 20 g of carbohydrate, with only 3.5 g of sugars, for 191 kcal, from whey concentrate, whey isolate, whey hydrolysate and micellar casein.
Protein contributes to a growth in muscle mass. Protein contributes to the maintenance of muscle mass. Protein contributes to the maintenance of normal bones. This serving takes about 48% of its energy from protein, which is several times the amount those three need, so they apply here comfortably. The bone one matters more than people expect: if you are over 40, protein protects your skeleton as much as your arms.
How This Protein Gainer Differs From a Mass Gainer
One serving is 191 kcal. In energy terms that is a snack, so if weight gain is what you came for, read the next two paragraphs before you order.
If what you need is calories — you eat all day, you train hard and the weight stays where it is — then this is the wrong tub and our all-in-one mass gainer gives six times the calories in a serving. If what you need is protein with some carbohydrate behind it, for lean gain or for recovery after training, this one is genuinely well built and the protein concentration is unusually high for this shelf.
So the fair way to describe it is a high-protein shake with carbohydrate attached, sitting between a plain whey protein and a true calorie gainer. Tell our pharmacist what you are actually trying to do and we will point you at whichever of the three fits, rather than at whichever is on the shelf.
Use It Alongside Meals, Not Instead of Them
At 191 kcal a serving this falls a long way short of a meal, and using it as one leaves you short of energy, short of fibre and hungry by mid-afternoon. A product genuinely made to replace a meal has to carry a defined amount of energy, a defined set of vitamins and minerals, and a minimum amount of potassium and sodium. A protein shake sits well below all of that.
Where it works well is alongside meals: after training, between meals, or added to breakfast when you are trying to get your protein up. If you want to lose weight by changing what you eat, please come and see our doctor — that is a conversation worth having properly, and we would give you something better than a shake in place of your lunch.
What Is Actually in a Serving, and What Is Only on the Label
The protein blend is about 56% of the powder and the carbohydrate blend about 40%. The protein comes from four sources that empty into your blood at different rates — hydrolysate fastest, then isolate, then concentrate, then micellar casein slowest — which is a sensible build for a shake taken once or twice a day. The carbohydrate is maltodextrin, waxy maize starch, isomaltulose and a little fructose.
The label also names MCT oil, L-glutamine and taurine, and a serving carries 350 mg of MCT oil, 250 mg of taurine and 125 mg of L-glutamine. Those are small amounts. Research on MCT oil uses several grams at a time, and glutamine is normally taken by the gram as well, so what is here is far below the amounts anything has been shown at. They do you no harm, and the reason to buy this tub lies elsewhere.
The reason to buy it is the protein concentration, which is real and checkable, and that is a better basis for spending your money than three ingredients in milligram quantities.
How to Mix It and How Far a Bag Goes
One 50 g serving in 300 to 400 ml of water, or milk if you want it richer and the lactose suits you. Shake it well and drink it within a few minutes. One or two servings a day suits most people training several times a week.
Olimp makes this in 1 kg and in 2.5 kg, which at a 50 g serving is 20 servings and 50 servings. Tell us how many weeks you want covered and which flavour, and we will tell you what is on the shelf and what we can bring in. It comes in vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, banana and tiramisu, and we do not hold all five at once.
This tub also sits above our free-delivery threshold, so delivery anywhere in Kenya is included.
Is This Protein Gainer Right for You?
It suits someone training several times a week who wants protein with carbohydrate behind it, someone building back after illness or injury, and anyone who finds a plain whey shake too light but a full calorie gainer too much. The protein concentration is the reason to choose it.
Please speak to us first if any of these describes you:
- You are buying it to gain weight. At 191 kcal a serving this is the wrong tub, and we will show you the right one.
- You want to use it to replace meals. Please see our doctor first and we will plan it properly.
- You have a diagnosed milk allergy. The protein here is all dairy, so ask us for a plant protein instead.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding, or buying it for someone under 18. Please see our doctor first.
- You have kidney disease, or you have been told to watch your protein. Bring your last results to the counter.
- You are lactose intolerant. Whey concentrate and casein both carry lactose, so talk to our pharmacist about how to test it gently.
And if you are not sure which of our three proteins you need, ask our pharmacist. The difference between them is what you are short of, not which one is best, and we would rather sell you the right one once.

Olimp Profi Mass: Your Questions Answered
What is Olimp Profi Mass used for?
Getting more protein into your day with some carbohydrate behind it. Protein contributes to a growth in muscle mass, to the maintenance of muscle mass and to the maintenance of normal bones. A 50 g serving gives 23 g of protein and 20 g of carbohydrate for 191 kcal.
Is it good for weight gain?
Not on its own. A serving is 191 kcal, which is a snack rather than a weight-gain plan, and that is the honest answer even though the shelf it sits on says gainer. If gaining weight is the goal, ask us about the all-in-one mass gainer instead, which carries about six times the calories in a serving.
What makes it different from a plain whey protein?
It has carbohydrate attached, roughly one gram for every gram of protein, so it suits training days and recovery rather than being purely a protein top-up. A plain whey is the cheaper choice if your calories are already fine.
Can I use it as a meal replacement?
Please do not. At 191 kcal it is nowhere near a meal, and you will be hungry and short of energy by the afternoon. Products genuinely made to replace meals have to carry set amounts of energy, vitamins, minerals, potassium and sodium. If you want to change how you eat to lose weight, come and see our doctor.
How much protein is in a serving?
23 g in a 50 g serving, which is close to half the powder by weight and unusually high for this shelf. It comes from whey concentrate, whey isolate, whey hydrolysate and micellar casein.
Does the MCT oil, glutamine and taurine do anything?
A serving carries 350 mg of MCT oil, 250 mg of taurine and 125 mg of L-glutamine. Those are small amounts, well below what research on any of the three has used, so we would not buy this tub for them. The protein concentration is the real reason to choose it, and we would rather say so.
How do I mix it?
One 50 g serving in 300 to 400 ml of water, or milk for something richer. Shake well and drink it within a few minutes. One or two servings a day suits most people training several times a week.
How long does a bag last?
Olimp makes it in 1 kg and 2.5 kg, which is 20 and 50 servings at a 50 g scoop. Tell us how many weeks you want covered and we will work out the order.
Which flavours are there?
Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, banana and tiramisu. We do not hold all five at once, so tell us which you want and we will tell you what is on the shelf or bring it in.
Is there sugar in it?
3.5 g of sugars in a 50 g serving, which is low. Most of the carbohydrate is maltodextrin, waxy maize starch and isomaltulose rather than sugar, so it is gentler than a typical gainer. If you live with diabetes, please talk to our doctor before using any carbohydrate powder.
Can I take it with creatine?
Yes, and there is no creatine in this one, so nothing doubles up. Our pure creatine monohydrate is the product in this category with an authorised performance claim behind it at 3 g a day. Our pharmacist will set out a simple order for the two.
Is it suitable if I am lactose intolerant?
Whey concentrate and micellar casein both carry lactose, so it may sit badly with you. Come and talk to our pharmacist and we will suggest how to test it gently, or point you at a whey with an added lactase enzyme instead.
Does it qualify for free delivery?
Yes. This tub sits above our free-delivery threshold, so delivery anywhere in Kenya is included in the price.
