Hyperbolic Mass gH 1Kg

Hyperbolic Mass gH is a mass gainer for someone who eats and trains hard and still cannot put weight on, because protein contributes to a growth in muscle mass and creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high intensity exercise. One 300 g serving gives 1,178 kcal, 60 g of protein, 211 g of carbohydrate and 6.6 g of creatine in chocolate. A 1 kg tub is three full servings, and a serving carries 3.9 g of salt, so please ask our pharmacist if you watch your blood pressure.

What This Mass Gainer Does

Hyperbolic Mass gH is a mass gainer that helps you put on weight and muscle when eating more and training hard has taken you as far as it will go, which is a real and frustrating place to be rather than a lack of discipline. One 300 g serving gives 1,178 kcal, 60 g of protein, 211 g of carbohydrate and 6.6 g of creatine, in chocolate, mixed into 900 ml of water or milk.

Protein contributes to a growth in muscle mass and to the maintenance of muscle mass. Creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high intensity exercise, which applies to adults doing that kind of training, and a serving carries more than twice the 3 g a day that claim rests on. Carbohydrates contribute to the recovery of normal muscle function after hard training that has emptied your muscles. All three in one tub rather than three products.

How Far a 1 kg Mass Gainer Tub Actually Goes

At the full 300 g serving, a 1 kg tub is three servings, so three days. We would rather you knew that before you ordered than after. USN makes this in 2 kg and 6 kg as well, and if you are going to use it daily for a bulking block, tell us and we will price the bigger tub for you instead.

USN’s own advice for a first tub is to start at a half or a third of a serving, both to see how your stomach handles it and because 1,178 kcal on top of your meals is a lot of food in a glass. At half a serving the 1 kg tub runs to about a week, which makes it a sensible size for finding out whether a gainer suits you at all.

And here is the thing worth hearing from a pharmacy rather than a shop. Calories from a tub cost many times what the same calories cost as food. What you are paying for here is the convenience of drinking them, plus the protein, the creatine and the vitamins that come with them. If your appetite is the problem, this solves something real. If money is tight and you can eat, come and talk to our pharmacist first — sometimes a whey protein alongside your normal meals is the better buy, and we will tell you so.

Why It Is So Salty, and Who Needs to Know

A single serving carries 3.9 g of salt, which is about two thirds of the whole daily reference for an adult, before anything you eat. Gainers are salted partly for taste and partly because you lose salt when you sweat, and at this calorie load the number climbs with it.

For a young man training hard in the heat and eating normally, that is manageable. If you have high blood pressure, or anyone in your family does, or you take anything for your heart or your blood pressure, please come and see us before you start. Our doctor can take a reading in a few minutes, and it is worth doing before you add this much salt to your day for weeks at a time.

What Is Actually in a Serving

60 g of protein from six sources — whey concentrate and isolate, soy protein isolate, calcium caseinate, skimmed milk powder and milk protein concentrate — which release at different speeds rather than all at once. 211 g of carbohydrate from maltodextrin, waxy maize starch, pea starch and isomaltulose, with only 13.8 g of it sugars, so it is far less sugary than a gainer usually is.

Then 7.5 g of creatine monohydrate, giving 6.6 g of creatine. Beta-alanine, taurine, glycine, L-glutamine, added branched-chain amino acids, calcium HMB, MCT powder, omega-3 from fish oil powder, an oat extract, and a full vitamin and mineral premix that puts a serving over the daily reference for vitamin D, folic acid, vitamin B12, vitamin C and chromium. It also contains an added lactase enzyme.

Two practical notes on that list. The creatine already in a serving is more than a normal daily creatine dose, so if you are taking creatine monohydrate powder as well, stop while you are on this and ask our pharmacist to work out the total. And because several vitamins are already over the daily reference in one serving, two servings a day doubles them, which is a reason to stay with the label rather than go past it.

How to Mix It So You Can Actually Drink It

Four heaped scoops, 300 g, into 900 ml of water or milk. Milk makes it richer and adds more calories, which is the point if gaining weight is the goal. Shake or blend it properly; at this thickness a lazy shake leaves powder at the bottom.

Split it rather than forcing it down in one go — half after training and half between meals works for most people, and it is far easier on your stomach than 900 ml at once. Before bed suits some people too. A banana or a spoon of peanut butter in the blender adds calories and makes it taste better.

Treat it as something on top of your meals, not instead of them. A gainer works when it is added to three proper meals a day, and does very little when it replaces one.

Is This Mass Gainer Right for You?

It suits someone who is training and genuinely struggling to gain weight, someone coming back from illness or injury who has lost condition, and anyone whose appetite falls short of what they are burning. If that is you, this is a well-built product: six protein sources, a proper creatine dose and a full vitamin premix in one tub.

Please speak to us first if any of these describes you:

  • You have high blood pressure, or you take anything for your heart or your blood pressure. A serving is two thirds of a day’s salt reference.
  • You live with diabetes, or you are watching your blood sugar. A serving carries 211 g of fast carbohydrate, and this is not suitable for you.
  • You have a diagnosed allergy. This contains cow’s milk, soy, fish and gluten from oats, and may carry traces of nuts, wheat, egg, shellfish and sulphites.
  • You are a woman wanting to gain weight. The serving here is built around a man’s bulking intake, so please see our doctor and we will work out what suits you.
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding, or buying it for someone under 18. Please see our doctor first.
  • You have kidney disease, or you have been told to watch your protein or your salt. Bring your last results to the counter.

And if you are not certain a gainer is what you need, ask our pharmacist before you buy. Plenty of people who think they cannot gain weight are simply not eating enough, and that is a conversation worth having over a counter rather than a tub.

Hyperbolic Mass gH 1 kg: Your Questions Answered

What does Hyperbolic Mass gH do?

It adds calories, protein and creatine to your day in one drink. Protein contributes to a growth in muscle mass and to the maintenance of muscle mass; creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high intensity exercise, which applies to adults doing that kind of training; and carbohydrates contribute to the recovery of normal muscle function after hard training.

How long will a 1 kg tub last?

Three servings at the full 300 g, so three days. At the half serving USN suggests for a first tub, about a week. If you are using it daily for a bulking block, tell us and we will price the 2 kg or 6 kg for you instead.

How many calories and how much protein in a serving?

1,178 kcal, 60 g of protein, 211 g of carbohydrate with only 13.8 g of it sugars, and 6.6 g of creatine, in a 300 g serving mixed into 900 ml.

Is it good for beginners?

Start at a half or a third of a serving for the first week, which is USN’s own advice. It gives your stomach time and it tells you whether that many extra calories suits you before you commit to a bigger tub.

Can I take it without working out?

You will gain weight, but it will not be the weight you are picturing. Protein and creatine do their work alongside training; without it you are mainly adding calories. If gaining weight is medically necessary for you, come and see our doctor and we will plan it properly.

How much salt is in it?

3.9 g a serving, which is about two thirds of the daily reference for an adult before you eat anything. If you have high blood pressure, or take anything for your blood pressure or your heart, please come and see us before you start and let our doctor take a reading.

Can I use it if I have diabetes?

No. A serving carries 211 g of carbohydrate that absorbs quickly. Please come and see our doctor instead, and we will go through ways to gain weight that suit you.

What does the gH in the name mean?

It is part of the product name USN uses in this region, and nothing more than that. It is not an ingredient and there is nothing hormonal in the tub; the ingredient list is in the description above.

Can I take it with creatine?

Not on top of this one. A serving already has 6.6 g of creatine, which is more than a normal daily dose, so adding a creatine scoop as well means taking far more than you need. Ask our pharmacist and we will work out the total across everything you are taking.

Which allergens does it contain?

Cow’s milk, soy, fish from the omega-3 oil powder, and gluten from an oat extract. It may also carry traces of nuts, wheat, egg, shellfish and sulphites from the factory it is made in. If you have a diagnosed allergy to any of those, please talk to our pharmacist before buying.

I am lactose intolerant. Can I drink it?

It contains an added lactase enzyme, which helps, but it also contains skimmed milk powder and milk protein concentrate, so there is real lactose in it. Some people manage it and some do not. Come and talk to our pharmacist and we will suggest how to test it gently, or point you at something else.

Can I mix it with milk?

Yes, and milk makes it richer and adds more calories, which is useful when gaining weight is the whole point. It also adds lactose, so water is the better choice if dairy sits badly with you.

Should I buy this or a whey protein?

A gainer is for calories you cannot eat; a whey protein is for protein when your calories are already fine. If you can eat but your protein is short, the whey is the cheaper and more sensible buy. Tell our pharmacist what a normal day of food looks like for you and we will say which one we would sell you.
