Conveen Latex Urindom Self-Sealing 30mm: One Piece, One Movement, Thirty Seconds
A self sealing urisheath helps a man with urinary incontinence stay dry and manage it himself, without a tube entering the bladder and without anybody else needing to help. The Conveen Latex Urindom Self-Sealing 30mm has the adhesive already on the sleeve, so it goes on in one movement: roll it over, unroll it down, squeeze to seal, connect the bag. No separate strip to position and no second pair of hands.
That is the reason to choose this version over the two-piece. For a man who wants to look after this himself, in his own bathroom, in half a minute each morning, the one-piece sheath is simply easier, and independence is most of what people are buying here. Please come and be measured first though, because the one thing that decides whether it works is the size.
First, One Correction: This Is for Men Only
A urisheath fits externally over the penis. It is a product for men only, and we want to say so clearly because the opposite has appeared in writing and somebody will have ordered one on the strength of it.
For a woman with urinary incontinence the answers are different ones: absorbent pads and briefs, pelvic floor physiotherapy, treatment of the underlying cause, or in some cases an indwelling or intermittent catheter prescribed after assessment. Please come and talk to our doctor rather than ordering something that will go straight in the bin, and ask our pharmacist about our TENA ProSkin Slip Plus briefs, which are made for both men and women.
Sizing a Self Sealing Urisheath: Getting the 30mm Right
The 30 is the diameter of the sleeve in millimetres. Measure around the middle of the shaft, or at its widest point, and if the measurement falls between two sizes take the smaller one. Thirty is the smaller of the two sizes we stock, and it is the one more men need than are sold.
You will know within a minute. A correctly sized sheath unrolls smoothly and completely and lies flat; one that is too large wrinkles as it unrolls, and those wrinkles are channels that urine escapes along. One that is too tight feels tight, and a sheath that is too tight can press on the urethra and hold back the flow of urine. Come back in a day or two and let us check the fit with you. That review costs nothing and it is where almost every leak gets solved.
It Is Natural Rubber Latex, and That Deserves a Section of Its Own
This sheath is made of natural rubber latex. Latex may cause an allergic reaction in anybody who has become sensitised to it, and a urinary product worn against the skin for 24 hours a day, every day, for years, is one of the more likely ways of becoming sensitised in the first place.
So please tell our pharmacist before you order if any of the following is true, and we will find you something else.
- Any previous reaction to latex — gloves, condoms, a dental dam, a balloon, or a rash after an examination or a hospital stay.
- Spina bifida. Avoiding latex products is standard advice, because sensitisation in this group is common after years of exposure to latex devices.
- Years of latex urinary products already. If skin that was fine for years has started itching, reddening or blistering under the adhesive, that change is worth telling us about rather than tolerating.
- Any reaction while wearing one — itching, a raised rash, swelling, wheeze or faintness. Take it off and contact us the same day. Swelling or breathing trouble means immediate medical help.
There is a silicone version of this product made without natural rubber latex, in the same diameters. Ask us and we will tell you what we can source for you and how long it takes.
Putting It On
Trim the hair at the base with blunt scissors rather than shaving, because regrowth after shaving irritates the skin under the adhesive. Wash with soap and water and dry thoroughly: the adhesive needs dry skin, and a damp shaft is the usual reason a sheath comes away by lunchtime. If you are uncircumcised, leave the foreskin forward in its normal position.
Place the rolled sleeve over the head of the penis with the narrow outlet pointing away from the body, and leave a gap of 1 to 2 cm between the tip and the outlet tube so urine has somewhere to run. Unroll fully, or to the length of the penis, then squeeze gently all along to seal it. No creams, no powders and no oils, which all stop the adhesive holding, and never ordinary tape or a rubber band. If it keeps slipping, the size or the fit is wrong and that is ours to put right.
One a Day, Then a Fresh One
Each sheath is worn for no longer than 24 hours and then replaced. They are single use and must never be washed and used again: re-using a urine-collection device risks carrying infection back to a vulnerable place, and the adhesive loses its grip after one use anyway, so a washed sheath leaks.
Change it at a time that suits your day, usually in the morning after washing, and let the skin have a few minutes in the air before the new one goes on. At one a day, a pack of thirty covers a month. Tell us how many months you want covered and we will set up a standing monthly delivery, which matters far more than the price of a single sheath.
Come to Us Straight Away If Any of This Happens
Take the sheath off immediately and contact us the same day if the penis swells, changes colour, becomes painful or goes numb. That is a fit that is too tight and it needs sorting that day.
Come in promptly as well if no urine has drained for several hours, if the skin underneath is broken, blistered or raw, or if there is fever, shivering, pain in the back or side, or urine that has turned cloudy, bloody or strong-smelling. The last group points to an infection, which our doctor can test for and treat the same day.
What We Can Honestly Tell You
For a man who can measure to 30mm and has intact skin, this is the simplest and most independent answer on this shelf, and research comparing external sheaths with indwelling catheters has reported less urinary infection among men using sheaths. It is invisible under clothing and it costs a few hundred shillings for a day.
If the fit has been awkward and the sheath keeps coming away, the two-piece version in the same 30mm size lets you position the adhesive yourself, which solves a good many difficult fits. And if the measurement comes out larger, we stock the self-sealing 35mm.
Is This Self Sealing Urisheath Right for You?
Please talk to our pharmacist or our doctor before you buy if any of these apply.
- It is for a woman. This product cannot be used by women. Please come and talk to our doctor about the right answer instead.
- Any history of latex reaction, or spina bifida. Tell us first and ask about the silicone version.
- You have not been measured. Come in for two minutes. Where the measurement falls between sizes we take the smaller.
- Swelling, colour change, pain or numbness. Take it off and contact us the same day.
- Broken, blistered or raw skin, a retracted penis, or significant swelling. Let our doctor look before you buy anything.
- Fever, shivering, back or side pain, or cloudy, bloody or strong-smelling urine. Please see our doctor.

Conveen Latex Urindom Self-Sealing 30mm: Your Questions Answered
What makes a self sealing urisheath different from the two-piece?
The adhesive is already on the sleeve, so it goes on in one movement with no separate strip to position. It is the easier one to manage on your own.
Can a woman use this?
No. A urisheath fits externally over the penis, so it suits men only. Please come and talk to our doctor about the right answer for a woman.
How do I know whether to order 30mm or 35mm?
Measure around the middle of the shaft or at its widest point. Where the measurement falls between two sizes, take the smaller one.
How can I tell the size is right?
It unrolls smoothly and completely and lies flat. If it wrinkles as it unrolls it is too large, and if it feels tight it is too small.
How long is one worn?
No longer than 24 hours, then a fresh one. They are single use and must never be washed and used again.
Why can it not be washed and reused?
Re-using a urine-collection device risks carrying infection back to a vulnerable place, and the adhesive loses its grip after one use, so a washed sheath leaks.
It is made of latex. Who should avoid it?
Anybody who has reacted to latex gloves, condoms or balloons, and anybody with spina bifida. Tell our pharmacist and ask about the silicone version.
The skin has started itching after years of using these. Why now?
Sensitisation can build up over years of exposure. Please tell us rather than tolerating it, and we will look at a latex-free option.
It comes away by lunchtime. What am I doing wrong?
Usually the skin was not completely dry, or a cream or powder was used. Wash, dry thoroughly, and use nothing else on the skin.
How do I prepare the skin?
Trim the hair at the base with blunt scissors rather than shaving, wash with soap and water, and dry thoroughly.
How much gap do I leave at the tip?
One to two centimetres between the tip of the penis and the narrow outlet tube, so urine has somewhere to run.
How many should I order?
One a day, so a pack of thirty covers a month. Tell us how many months to cover and we will set up a standing monthly delivery.
When should I contact you urgently?
Take it off and contact us the same day if the penis swells, changes colour, becomes painful or goes numb, or if there is itching, a rash, swelling or wheeze.
