What Super Immune Formula Does
Super Immune Formula helps your immune system work normally and keeps your skin and the moist linings of your nose, throat and gut in good order, in one softgel a day with food.
It is a combined formula rather than a single nutrient: vitamin A, vitamin D3, zinc and copper alongside magnesium and a small amount of fish oil, in a softgel with a gelatin shell. The useful thing about it is that four of those nutrients carry the same recognised immune benefit, so the claim on the front of this one rests on four separate approvals rather than on hope. Please read the fish note further down before you buy.
What Is in Each Softgel
These are the amounts, and they are the only honest way to compare this with anything else on a shelf.
Vitamin A, 150 µg RE as retinyl palmitate, which is 500 IU — 19% of the daily reference intake.
Vitamin D3, 25 µg as cholecalciferol, which is 1,000 IU — 500% of the daily reference intake, and the most generous nutrient in the formula by a wide margin.
Zinc, 5 mg as zinc bisglycinate — 50% of the daily reference intake.
Copper, 0.5 mg as copper gluconate — 50% of the daily reference intake.
Magnesium, 50 mg as an HVP chelate — 13% of the daily reference intake.
Fish oil, 150 mg from anchovy, sardine and mackerel, giving 54 mg of EPA and 40.5 mg of DHA.
And the rest of the softgel: a gelatin, glycerin, purified water and carob shell, with non-GMO sunflower oil, sunflower lecithin and yellow beeswax. Free from artificial colours and preservatives, dairy, starch, sugar, wheat, gluten, yeast, egg, shellfish and nuts.
Four Nutrients, One Recognised Immune Benefit
A nutrient benefit may only be stated when a daily dose supplies at least 15% of the reference intake, and here is what clears it: vitamin A at 19%, vitamin D at 500%, zinc at 50% and copper at 50%.
All four of those carry a recognised immune benefit. European guidance recognises that vitamin A contributes to the normal development and function of the immune system, and that vitamin D, zinc and copper each contribute to the normal function of the immune system. Four nutrients converging on one benefit, in a single softgel, is a genuinely strong basis and it is the reason to buy this rather than a single-nutrient capsule.
And the skin and mucous membrane benefit is just as well covered. Vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes and to the maintenance of normal skin — the linings of your nose, throat and gut are the first barrier anything has to get through, which is why that benefit belongs on an immune product. Zinc also contributes to the maintenance of normal skin, and copper to normal skin pigmentation.
For tissue and repair, the recognised wording belongs to copper: copper contributes to the maintenance of normal connective tissues. Zinc contributes to normal protein synthesis and normal DNA synthesis, which is the same territory described properly.
And there is a good deal more in the formula besides. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, teeth and muscle function and to the normal absorption and use of calcium. Zinc contributes to normal cognitive function, normal vision, normal fertility and reproduction, the maintenance of normal hair and nails, normal macronutrient metabolism and the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Copper contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, the normal functioning of the nervous system, normal iron transport and the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal vision and to normal iron metabolism.
Where the Amounts Sit, and What to Compare On
We publish the arithmetic on every formula we sell, because it is the only way to choose between two bottles honestly.
The vitamin D is the standout. 1,000 IU in a daily softgel is a real dose rather than a token one, and for most adults in Kenya who spend their days indoors it is the single most useful nutrient in this formula.
The magnesium at 50 mg is a useful contribution towards your daily intake rather than the part doing the recognised work, which begins at 56.25 mg. It is a near miss worth knowing about, and if magnesium is what you are really after, a chelated magnesium tablet reaches all ten of magnesium’s recognised benefits in one tablet a day, including the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
The fish oil is a bonus rather than the point. 54 mg of EPA and 40.5 mg of DHA is a modest amount; the recognised heart benefit for EPA and DHA is set at 250 mg a day, which is more than one softgel carries. So take this for the four immune nutrients, and if your heart is what brought you here, a high-strength fish oil concentrate clears that 250 mg in a single daily softgel and is the right product for it.
And a reassuring one, since people ask. The vitamin A here is 150 µg, which is a small fraction of the amount European assessment treats as the upper limit for adults, so there is plenty of room in it.
Please Read This if You Are Allergic to Fish
This softgel contains fish oil from anchovy, sardine and mackerel, and fish is one of the recognised food allergens. The label lists a great many things the product is free from while leaving the fish unsaid, so we are saying it here: if you are allergic to fish, please choose a different immune supplement and ask us which. An effervescent with vitamin C, vitamin D and zinc carries recognised immune benefits with no fish in it at all.
The shell is gelatin and there is beeswax in the formula, so it suits neither vegetarians nor vegans. If you need a plant-based immune supplement, tell us and our pharmacist will show you what we carry.
How to Take It
One softgel daily with food, for adults. Taking it with a meal matters here because vitamins A and D are fat-soluble and absorb better alongside fat, and the softgel carries its own oil to help with that.
The label asks you to take it a few hours before or after other medicines, which is sound advice with any mineral-containing supplement, and our pharmacist will work out the timing around your own prescriptions in two minutes at the counter.
Is Super Immune Formula Right for You?
- If you are allergic to fish, please choose something else and ask us which. There is fish oil in the softgel and it deserves saying out loud rather than being inferred from an ingredient list.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please speak to us before you buy. That is the manufacturer’s own instruction and we will keep to it. Our doctor is at the pharmacy if you would like the whole question looked at properly.
- If you take regular medicines, bring the list to the counter. The label asks for a few hours between this and other medicines, and our pharmacist can tell you exactly how to fit it into your day.
- Adults only, and keep it out of reach of children. Both are on the manufacturer’s label. We stock children’s immune supplements made for the purpose, so please ask rather than halving an adult softgel.
- If you are already taking a multivitamin, bring it in and let our pharmacist add the two together. Zinc and vitamin A in particular turn up in several products at once, and it is a two-minute conversation that saves you money as often as it saves you trouble.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does Super Immune Formula do?
It helps your immune system work normally and keeps your skin and your mucous membranes in good order. Four of its nutrients carry a recognised immune benefit: vitamin A contributes to the normal development and function of the immune system, and vitamin D, zinc and copper each contribute to the normal function of the immune system. Four approvals behind one claim is an unusually strong basis for a formula like this.
What is in each softgel?
Vitamin A 150 µg RE (500 IU, 19% of the daily reference intake), vitamin D3 25 µg (1,000 IU, 500%), zinc 5 mg as bisglycinate (50%), copper 0.5 mg (50%), magnesium 50 mg (13%), and 150 mg of fish oil giving 54 mg of EPA and 40.5 mg of DHA.
Does it contain fish?
Yes, and this is the most important answer on the page. The fish oil comes from anchovy, sardine and mackerel. The label lists many things the product is free from without saying plainly that it contains fish, so we are saying it: if you are allergic to fish, please do not take this and ask us for a vitamin C, vitamin D and zinc effervescent instead, which carries recognised immune benefits with no fish in it.
Is it suitable for vegetarians or vegans?
No. The softgel shell is gelatin, there is yellow beeswax in the formula, and the oil is from fish. Please ask our pharmacist for a plant-based option and we will show you what we stock.
How much vitamin D does it give, and is that a lot?
1,000 IU, which is 500% of the daily reference intake and a real dose rather than a token one. For most adults in Kenya who work indoors it is the most useful nutrient in the formula, and it carries recognised benefits for bones, teeth, muscle function, calcium absorption and the immune system.
Will it help my joints or my heart?
For connective tissue, the recognised wording belongs to the copper in it: copper contributes to the maintenance of normal connective tissues. For the heart, be aware that the recognised EPA and DHA benefit is set at 250 mg a day and one softgel gives 94.5 mg, so a dedicated fish oil concentrate at a higher strength is the right product if that is your main reason for buying.
Is the magnesium enough to count?
At 50 mg it is a useful contribution to your daily intake rather than the part doing the recognised work, which begins at 56.25 mg. If magnesium is your real interest, a magnesium glycinate tablet reaches all ten of its recognised benefits in one tablet a day.
Can I take it with my other supplements?
Usually yes, and please let our pharmacist add them up first. Zinc and vitamin A appear in a lot of multivitamins, and taking two products that both contain them is the commonest way people end up over the sensible daily amount. Bring the other bottle in.
When should I take it, and does it matter?
One softgel daily with food. Vitamins A and D are fat-soluble so a meal helps them absorb, and the label asks for a few hours between this and any other medicine, which our pharmacist will fit around your prescriptions.
Will it stop me catching colds?
No supplement can promise that and we will not. What these nutrients are recognised for is helping the immune system work normally, which is a different and more honest statement. If you have a fever, or you have been unwell for more than a few days, that is our doctor rather than another softgel.
Can children take it?
No. The label is adults only and asks for it to be kept out of reach of children. We stock children’s immune supplements made for the purpose, including an alcohol-free drop for infants, so please ask rather than splitting an adult softgel.
How many softgels are in the pack?
The listing does not say, and we have asked. Without a count there is no way to work out how long a bottle lasts or what it costs you a day, so ask us when you order and our pharmacist will read it off the bottle.
