Quest Glucosamine MSM & Chondroitin 60s

Quest Glucosamine helps support the joints you use hard every day, supplying glucosamine sulphate alongside MSM and chondroitin sulphate in three tablets taken daily with food. The daily dose carries fifteen hundred milligrams of glucosamine sulphate, which is the amount the long-term knee studies used, and the same again of MSM, which sits within the range the MSM trials worked at. Tell our pharmacist about any shellfish allergy before you buy, since the glucosamine here is made from shellfish, and about any blood-thinning medicine you take.

Quest Glucosamine, MSM and Chondroitin in One Daily Dose

Quest Glucosamine helps support the joints you use hard every day, supplying glucosamine sulphate together with MSM and chondroitin sulphate in three tablets taken with food. Sixty tablets to a pack, which is twenty days at the full dose.

Two of the three amounts here match the doses used in the published trials, which is unusual on a joint shelf and is the reason to look at this one closely. Here is what each ingredient does, what the research behind those doses actually found, the two numbers worth comparing when you hold two joint products side by side, how to take them, how long to give it, and who should have a word with us first.

What Quest Glucosamine Supplies, and Why the Amounts Matter

The whole daily dose is three tablets, and the panel is stated across all three rather than per tablet, which is the honest way to print it.

  • Glucosamine sulphate potassium chloride 1987mg, providing 1500mg of glucosamine sulphate and 1176mg of glucosamine. Fifteen hundred milligrams is the exact amount used in the three-year European knee trials, in the same sulphate form those trials used.
  • Methylsulphonylmethane, MSM, 1500mg. MSM has been studied for joint comfort in the range of roughly one and a half to six grams a day, so this sits at the working end of that range rather than below it.
  • Chondroitin sulphate 300mg. Chondroitin is the component that helps cartilage hold water, which is what gives the tissue its cushioning.

Glucosamine and chondroitin are both natural building blocks of cartilage, the smooth tissue that caps the ends of your bones. Your body makes both and makes less of each as the years go on. MSM is a natural source of sulphur, which the body uses in building connective tissue, and it is the ingredient most often added alongside the other two.

The Form and the Dose, Which Are the Two Things Worth Comparing

Anyone holding two glucosamine products should look at exactly two numbers, and this is where Quest Glucosamine stands apart from most of the shelf.

The form. Glucosamine comes as the sulphate or the hydrochloride, and they are not interchangeable in the research. The sulphate is the form carried by the long-term trials, and it is the one here.

The daily total. Fifteen hundred milligrams of glucosamine sulphate a day is the trial amount, and plenty of joint products on any shelf carry a fraction of it. Reaching it in one declared daily dose, printed plainly, is the strongest thing about this product.

What the trials found is worth stating accurately. Two three-year European studies gave fifteen hundred milligrams of glucosamine sulphate daily and measured the space inside the knee joint on X-ray. In the first the gap narrowed by 0.07mm over three years against 0.40mm on placebo; in the second, 0.04mm against 0.19mm. Narrowing slowed substantially in both. A large American combination study found the clearest results among participants who began with moderate to severe knee pain, where seventy-nine per cent on the combination reported their pain easing by a fifth or more against fifty-four per cent on placebo, a result its own authors described as preliminary.

The realistic picture: the strongest signals come from the sulphate form, from the full daily amount, from people whose joints are already giving them trouble, and from staying with it for years rather than weeks.

How to Take Quest Glucosamine

Three tablets daily, with food. That is the full dose, and taking fewer gives you proportionally less of everything. Swallow with water.

Take all three with the same meal, or split them across two, whichever suits you. Food rather than an empty stomach matters more than timing: mild stomach upset is the commonest thing people report with glucosamine and a meal settles most of it.

Give it three months before you decide. This is where most people go wrong, stopping after three weeks because nothing has happened. Nothing was going to happen in three weeks. The trials that found a benefit ran for one to three years, and the honest question at twelve weeks is whether stairs, mornings and long days feel easier than they did.

Sixty tablets at three a day is twenty days, so plan on more than one pack and order before you run out. Steadiness is what this kind of supplement rewards.

Who This Suits

Adults with everyday stiffness in the knees, hips or hands, particularly first thing in the morning. People on their feet all day, from nurses and teachers to traders, drivers and security staff. Anyone returning to running, football or the gym after a long gap, when joints meet load they have forgotten. Older adults, whose own production of both main ingredients has tapered. People carrying extra weight, whose knees do measurably more work with every step. And anyone who has tried a lower-dose glucosamine and wants to give the full studied amount a fair run.

Is Quest Glucosamine Right for You?

A few things to settle with our pharmacist before you start. The first one is on the label and we would rather you heard it from us than found it at home.

  • THE GLUCOSAMINE HERE IS MADE FROM SHELLFISH. The label says so plainly, which is more than most glucosamine products manage. If you have a shellfish allergy, tell us before you buy and ask about the shellfish-free, plant-fermented glucosamine we keep on the shelf for exactly this.
  • If you take warfarin or another blood thinner, speak to your doctor first. There is a published case of a patient stable on warfarin whose INR rose after four weeks on glucosamine with chondroitin, and anyone combining the two should have their INR checked more often while settling in.
  • If you are diabetic, mention it. Glucosamine is a sugar molecule, and while large trials have found blood glucose holding steady in people who take it, your pharmacist will want to know so monitoring stays sensible.
  • If you already take an MSM supplement, bring it with you. Fifteen hundred milligrams a day is a real amount and the totals add up across products.
  • Pregnant, breastfeeding, or under eighteen? This one is formulated for adults, so talk to your doctor before you start.

Storing It

Keep the pack tightly closed in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, below 25 degrees, and out of reach of children. A cupboard rather than a windowsill or the shelf above the cooker. Tablets take in moisture from humid air, so leave any desiccant sachet where it is and close the pack properly between doses. At twenty days to a pack, check the expiry date against how many you are buying at once.

Why Buy Your Quest Glucosamine from HealthAlone Kenya?

HealthAlone is a pharmacist-led health ecosystem licensed by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, and our stock is original, sealed and correctly stored. Kahawa Sukari is a real counter with real pharmacists behind it.

Our pharmacists will flag the shellfish before you pay, show you the shellfish-free option when that is the right answer, compare the dose here against whatever joint supplement you are already taking, check it against warfarin and against your diabetes if you have it, and tell you honestly how long to give it before judging the result. On a product you will take for months, that conversation decides whether the money was well spent.

It is one more step in our vision: building Africa’s most trusted health ecosystem, accessible to everyone, everywhere.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Quest Glucosamine used for?

It is a daily joint supplement for adults. Three tablets supply glucosamine sulphate, MSM and chondroitin sulphate, which are building blocks the body uses in cartilage and connective tissue, and people take them for everyday joint comfort in knees, hips and hands.

Tell me more about what is in it and how much.

Per three tablets, the full daily dose: glucosamine sulphate potassium chloride 1987mg, providing 1500mg of glucosamine sulphate and 1176mg of glucosamine; MSM 1500mg; and chondroitin sulphate 300mg. The fifteen hundred milligrams of glucosamine sulphate is the amount used in the three-year knee trials.

How many tablets a day, and how long does a pack last?

Three tablets daily with food. Sixty tablets to a pack, so twenty days at the full dose. Most customers buy two or three packs at a time for that reason.

Does Quest Glucosamine contain shellfish?

Yes. The glucosamine is made from shellfish and the label states it. If you have a shellfish allergy, please tell us before you buy and we will show you the plant-fermented, shellfish-free glucosamine we carry instead.

Why does it contain MSM as well?

MSM is a natural source of sulphur, which the body uses in building connective tissue, and it is the ingredient most commonly paired with glucosamine and chondroitin. At 1500mg a day this sits within the range the published MSM studies worked at, rather than at the token levels some combination products carry.

What is the difference between glucosamine sulphate and glucosamine hydrochloride?

The sulphate is the form used in the three-year European trials that measured joint space, and it is the form here. The hydrochloride appears in many products and is studied mostly at divided doses. If you are comparing two glucosamine products, the form and the daily total are the two things worth checking.

How long before Quest Glucosamine makes a difference?

Give it three months before you judge it. Glucosamine and chondroitin work slowly and steadily, and the trials that found a benefit ran for one to three years rather than weeks.

Can I take Quest Glucosamine with warfarin?

Speak to your doctor first. There is a published case of a patient stable on warfarin whose INR rose after four weeks on glucosamine with chondroitin, and anyone combining the two should have their INR monitored more closely while settling in.

Can I take it if I am diabetic?

Mention it to our pharmacist. Glucosamine is a sugar molecule, and although large trials have found blood glucose holding steady in people taking it, your pharmacist will want to know so that monitoring stays sensible.

Can I take fewer than three tablets a day?

You can, and you will get proportionally less of everything. The three-tablet dose is what delivers the fifteen hundred milligrams the research used, so if cost is the reason, talk to us and we will compare it honestly against the other joint products we carry.
