Nutra Joint Tea, Curcumin With Green Tea and Piperine
Nutra Joint Tea is a herbal infusion taken for everyday joint comfort, built mainly from curcumin with green tea and a little piperine from black pepper. Twenty reusable bags, each good for three infusions.
A tea is a pleasant daily habit rather than a measured dose, and with only three ingredients you taste every one of them. The piperine is the part worth understanding before you start, and almost nobody selling turmeric tea explains it. Here is what is in the blend, what the piperine is doing there, how to brew it, how much caffeine it carries, and the one conversation to have with us first.
What Is in Nutra Joint Tea
A short blend, which is unusual and is the point of it.
- Curcumin, fifty per cent. Half the blend by weight, which is a considerable proportion for a tea and gives the cup its deep gold colour and its earthy base note. Curcumin is the pigment extracted from turmeric root.
- Green tea, thirty per cent. The second ingredient, bringing a little caffeine and the grassy top note that keeps the curcumin from dominating.
- Piperine, extracted from black pepper. A small proportion, and the reason it is here is pharmacological rather than culinary: piperine is added to curcumin products because it changes how the body absorbs things. More on that below, because it is the most important thing about this blend.
Three ingredients rather than ten means you taste each of them, and it means there is less in the cup to interact with. The exception is the piperine, and it is a real one.
What the Piperine Is Doing, and Why to Tell Us Your Medicines
Piperine appears in turmeric and curcumin products for one reason: it increases how much of a substance crosses from the gut into the bloodstream. It does that by slowing two of the body’s main clearance systems, the cytochrome P450 enzymes and a transporter called P-glycoprotein.
That is useful when the thing being absorbed is the curcumin. What is worth knowing is that piperine makes no distinction between curcumin and a medicine. Published studies have measured the effect on ordinary prescriptions: with piperine, blood exposure to carbamazepine rose by about half, and to diclofenac by around two thirds, with the antihistamine fexofenadine showing a similar rise. Sedation from midazolam lasted longer.
So the single most useful thing you can do before starting this tea is bring us your list of medicines. For most people on nothing, or on something piperine has no bearing on, there is nothing to settle and you can enjoy the tea. For anyone on an anticonvulsant, an anti-inflammatory, a sedative, a heart medicine or a blood thinner, it takes our pharmacist two minutes to tell you whether two or three cups a day is sensible, and our doctor is here if the answer needs one.
We would rather you heard this from us than found it out later.
How to Brew Nutra Joint Tea
Pour two hundred millilitres of freshly boiled water over one bag and leave it four to five minutes. Squeeze the bag gently as you lift it out. Two or three cups a day is the pattern the blend is built around.
Each bag takes three infusions, so a box of twenty gives up to sixty cups rather than twenty. That is the arithmetic most people miss and it makes the box considerably better value than the count suggests. Keep the used bag on a saucer and come back to it within the day.
Curcumin is fat-soluble, so a splash of milk, or a cup taken alongside something with a little fat in it, suits this blend better than most. Four to five minutes is longer than you would brew black tea and it matters, because the colour and the flavour both come out slowly.
The Packaging and the Caffeine
The bags are biodegradable and reusable, with no plastic mesh and no bleach, and three infusions from each is what turns a box of twenty into sixty cups. For anyone who has looked at what a conventional tea bag is made of, that is the main reason to pick this one.
It is low in caffeine rather than caffeine-free, from the green tea at thirty per cent: considerably less than black tea and far less than coffee. The blend is vegan approved.
Who This Suits
Anyone who likes turmeric and wants it as a drink rather than a capsule. People building a small daily ritual around looking after their joints, alongside whatever else they take. Anyone who has moved away from plastic tea bags. People who prefer a short, clean blend where you can taste each ingredient. And anyone who would rather pay for sixty cups than twenty, which is what the three infusions actually give you.
Is Nutra Joint Tea Right for You?
One item here matters considerably more than the rest. Please talk to our pharmacist before you start.
- BRING US YOUR MEDICINES BEFORE YOUR FIRST CUP. The piperine in this blend slows two of the systems your body uses to clear medicines, and published studies have measured blood exposure to carbamazepine rising by about half and to diclofenac by around two thirds. Anticonvulsants, anti-inflammatories, sedatives, heart medicines and blood thinners are the classes most worth checking. It takes two minutes at the counter and our doctor is here if the answer needs one.
- If you take warfarin or another blood thinner, speak to your doctor first, or to ours. Both the piperine and the turmeric itself are worth raising, and the doctor managing your INR should know what you are drinking daily.
- If you have gallstones or a blocked bile duct, ask us about the turmeric. It is traditionally avoided in both.
- If you have surgery or a dental extraction booked, mention this tea. Turmeric is commonly stopped a week or two beforehand and your surgeon will want to know what you are taking.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding? Turmeric at everyday culinary levels is ordinary, but a concentrated curcumin blend twice a day is a different question. Please ask our doctor, who can see you here.
Storing It
Keep the box closed in a cool, dry cupboard away from direct sunlight and away from anything strongly scented, because curcumin picks up smells and gives up its colour to whatever it touches. Away from the kettle and the sink, since steam spoils a tea box faster than anything else. A reused bag should sit on a saucer and be finished within the day.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Nutra Joint Tea?
A herbal infusion of curcumin, green tea and piperine that many people drink as part of looking after their joints. It is a tea rather than a supplement, and that distinction is worth holding on to when you compare it with a capsule.
What is in it, and in what proportion?
Curcumin makes up fifty per cent of the blend and green tea thirty per cent, with a small proportion of piperine extracted from black pepper. Three ingredients, which means you taste each one.
Why does it contain piperine?
Because piperine increases how much of a substance crosses from the gut into the bloodstream, which is why it is added to curcumin products generally. It does that by slowing two of the body’s clearance systems, and that is also why the question below matters.
Can I drink it with my medicines?
Bring us the list before your first cup. Piperine makes no distinction between curcumin and a medicine: published studies have measured blood exposure to carbamazepine rising by about half, to diclofenac by around two thirds, and a similar rise for the antihistamine fexofenadine. Anticonvulsants, anti-inflammatories, sedatives, heart medicines and blood thinners are the classes most worth checking. Two minutes at the counter settles it, and our doctor is here if the answer needs one.
How do I brew it, and how many cups does a box give?
Two hundred millilitres of freshly boiled water over one bag, four to five minutes, then squeeze gently. Each bag takes three infusions, so a box of twenty gives up to sixty cups rather than twenty.
Should I add milk?
You can, and with this blend it is a reasonable idea. Curcumin is fat-soluble, so a splash of milk or a cup taken alongside something with a little fat in it suits this tea better than most.
Does it contain caffeine?
A little, from the green tea at thirty per cent. Considerably less than black tea and far less than coffee. For the evening, ask us about the caffeine-free blends on the same shelf.
Should I stop it before surgery?
Mention it to us and to your surgeon. Turmeric is commonly stopped a week or two before surgery or a dental extraction, and your surgeon will want to know what you are drinking daily.
Is it vegan, and are the bags reusable?
Vegan approved, and the bags are biodegradable and reusable up to three times each, with no plastic mesh and no bleach. Keep a used bag on a saucer and finish it within the day.
Is a turmeric tea the same as a curcumin supplement?
No, and it is worth being clear about. A tea is a pleasant daily habit; a capsule at a measured dose is a different proposition. If you want turmeric at a studied amount, ask us and we will show you what we carry rather than selling you tea instead.
