Tiwani Moringa Capsules 100s

Tiwani Moringa Capsules supply 400mg of organic moringa oleifera leaf, one of the most nutrient-dense green leaves grown in East Africa, as a daily portion for people who eat little dark green vegetable. At one to two capsules a day this is a nutritional top-up, not a dose at which blood sugar or cholesterol changes. Avoid in pregnancy, and speak to our pharmacist first if you take diabetes, thyroid or any regular medicine.

Description

Tiwani Moringa Capsules, 100 Capsules

Moringa capsules supply dried moringa oleifera leaf, a leaf eaten as a vegetable across East Africa and India and one of the more nutrient-dense green foods that grows here.

The honest starting point is the amount. Each capsule holds 400mg of leaf powder, and the label says one or two a day. That is a modest daily portion of a green leaf, and it is worth knowing before you read anything else, because almost everything written about moringa online describes what happens at several grams a day rather than at this one.

How Much Leaf Is Actually in a Daily Dose

One to two capsules is 0.4 to 0.8 grams of leaf powder. The human trials that found measurable effects on blood sugar and cholesterol used between 2.4 and 8 grams a day, for periods of forty days to twelve weeks. At the label dose you are taking three to ten times less than the smallest of those.

This does not make the product pointless. It makes it what it is: a convenient daily portion of a green leaf, taken by people who do not otherwise eat much dark green vegetable, in a form that travels and keeps. That is a reasonable thing to buy. What it is not is a dose at which anyone should expect their blood sugar or cholesterol to change.

If you want the amounts used in the research, you would be taking six or more capsules a day, a bottle would last around a fortnight, and you should speak to our pharmacist first rather than simply increasing it yourself. The interactions further down are the reason.

What Moringa Leaf Contains

Dried moringa leaf is genuinely rich, gram for gram, in iron, calcium, potassium, vitamin A as beta-carotene, vitamin C and vitamin E, and it contains a complete set of amino acids. This is why it is promoted as a food for undernourished communities, and in that use, as a few spoonfuls of powder stirred into food, it earns the reputation.

Gram for gram is the phrase that matters. A cup of fresh moringa leaves is a serving of vegetable. A capsule is a fraction of a gram. Both are moringa, and nutritionally they are not the same thing.

The Blood Sugar Question

There is real evidence here, at doses well above this label, and it is a caution before it is a benefit. In a trial of people with type 2 diabetes, eight grams of leaf powder daily for forty days lowered fasting blood sugar substantially. A twelve-week trial in prediabetes at a lower dose showed improvement in about six people in ten.

A systematic review of this work found five low-quality trials with favourable but equivocal results. That is an honest summary: something is happening, the studies are small, and nobody should be managing diabetes with a leaf capsule.

The reason it matters at any dose is the other direction. If you take metformin, a sulphonylurea or insulin, and you add something that lowers blood sugar on top, your blood sugar can go lower than intended. Tell our pharmacist what you take. Do not stop or reduce any diabetes medicine because you have started this.

Before You Start, Check These

Speak to our pharmacist first if any of these apply to you:

  • Pregnancy — avoid it. Moringa leaf extract has shown abortifacient effects in animal studies and there is not enough information on safety in human pregnancy. This is not a cautious footnote, it is the firmest instruction we give about this product.
  • Diabetes medicine or insulin — as above. The risk is low blood sugar, not high.
  • Levothyroxine or a thyroid condition — animal work suggests moringa interferes with the conversion of thyroxine to its active form.
  • Any medicine broken down by the liver — laboratory work shows moringa inhibits CYP3A4 and P-glycoprotein, two of the main routes the body uses to clear medicines. That covers a long list, which is why the answer is to bring your list rather than to guess.
  • Breastfeeding — moringa is traditionally taken to support milk supply, and that traditional use has not been tested for safety. Ask us first.
  • Nevirapine or amodiaquine — both have documented changes in blood levels alongside moringa.

Use the leaf only. Moringa root and bark are a different matter and have caused harm in animal studies. Nothing in this bottle is root or bark.

Side Effects

At this dose most people notice nothing beyond, occasionally, a looser stool in the first few days. Moringa leaf has a mild laxative effect at higher amounts, which is worth knowing if you decide to take more.

Rarely, serious skin reactions have been reported with moringa preparations. Stop taking it and get medical advice the same day if you develop a widespread rash, blistering, or a rash together with fever or difficulty breathing.

How to Take It

One or two capsules a day with food. Morning or evening makes no meaningful difference. At one a day the bottle lasts about three months and at two a day about seven weeks.

Take it with a meal rather than on an empty stomach, and if you take levothyroxine or iron tablets, separate them from this by several hours.

What Is in the Capsule

400mg of organic moringa oleifera leaf powder per capsule, from Tiwani, with 100 capsules in the bottle. Leaf only, no extract, no added stimulants.

Storing It

Keep the bottle closed, dry and away from direct sunlight, and out of the bathroom and the area beside the cooker. Leaf powder loses its colour and its vitamin content faster in heat and light. Use it within the date on the label and keep it out of reach of children.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do moringa capsules actually do?

They supply a daily portion of dried moringa leaf, which is a nutrient-dense green vegetable. At one or two capsules a day the sensible expectation is a small nutritional top-up for someone who does not eat much dark green vegetable, not a change in any measurement your doctor takes.

How much moringa is in a capsule?

400mg of leaf powder. One to two capsules a day is 0.4 to 0.8 grams. Human trials that found effects on blood sugar and cholesterol used 2.4 to 8 grams a day, which is three to ten times more.

Does moringa lower blood sugar?

At the doses used in research, several grams a day, it appears to. The trials are small and rated low quality, and the finding matters most as a caution: if you take metformin, a sulphonylurea or insulin, adding moringa can push your blood sugar lower than intended. Speak to our pharmacist and do not change any diabetes medicine on your own.

Can I take moringa capsules in pregnancy?

No. Avoid it. Moringa leaf extract has shown abortifacient effects in animal studies and human safety data is lacking. If you are pregnant and looking for iron or folic acid, ask us and we will point you to something made for that.

Does moringa cure or prevent cancer?

No, and nobody should sell it to you on that basis. Laboratory and animal studies have looked at compounds in the leaf, which is a long way from a treatment. There is no clinical evidence that moringa treats or prevents cancer in people.

Does moringa cure anaemia?

No. Moringa leaf contains iron, but the amount in one or two capsules is small, and there is no clinical evidence that it treats anaemia. If you have been told you are anaemic, the cause needs finding and the iron dose needs to be a treatment dose. Bring your results and we will help.

Is moringa good for the liver?

The liver claim is repeated everywhere and rests on animal studies. There is no clinical evidence that moringa cleanses or detoxifies a human liver, and a healthy liver does not need cleansing. If you have liver disease, speak to us before taking anything herbal.

Can I take moringa with my other medicines?

Bring the list. Moringa inhibits CYP3A4 and P-glycoprotein in laboratory work, which are two of the main ways the body clears medicines, and it has documented effects alongside levothyroxine, nevirapine and amodiaquine. It is a short conversation and it is worth having.

How long does a bottle last?

About three months at one capsule a day, or roughly seven weeks at two. There are 100 capsules in the bottle.

Are there side effects?

Few at this dose. A looser stool in the first few days is the common one, since moringa leaf is mildly laxative. Serious skin reactions have been reported rarely, so stop and seek advice the same day for a widespread rash or blistering.
