Buy Dark Spot Serum Online in Kenya – Bioderma Pigmentbio C-Concentrate

Bioderma Pigmentbio C-Concentrate is a concentrated dark spot serum for melanin-rich skin: a small glass bottle of evening serum with a dropper, and a vitamin C powder you release into the liquid yourself the first time you open it.

The vitamin C on the label is not the part doing most of the work. The pigment fading is mainly done by azelaic, glycolic and salicylic acids, which changes how you use it. It suits adults with settled dark marks from old spots, shaving bumps or healed scratches, and it is not a melasma treatment. Five drops on a clean face at night, then sunscreen every morning. Used nightly from the first night, an acid serum on melanin-rich skin can leave more marks than it fades.

The Vitamin C Is Not the Part Doing Most of the Work

People buy this as a vitamin C serum and the name encourages it. The vitamin C is ascorbyl glucoside, a stable derivative rather than pure ascorbic acid: your skin has to convert it, and the evidence behind derivatives is thinner. That is not a criticism — pure ascorbic acid is notoriously unstable, which is why this one ships its vitamin C as a dry powder in the cap.

The visible work on pigment is done by the others: azelaic acid interferes with the enzyme that makes pigment, glycolic and salicylic acids lift pigmented surface cells so the mark thins from the top down, and niacinamide slows the transfer of pigment into those cells. Take the vitamin C out and you would still have a working dark spot serum. That matters practically, because an acid serum is not handled the way a vitamin C serum is: it raises sun sensitivity, it does not belong on the same night as retinol, and it has to be introduced slowly.

Nothing in This Bottle Prevents a New Dark Spot

The old listing claimed the serum prevents new pigmentation. It does not. It interferes with pigment being made in the skin it sits on, and does nothing about what tells your skin to make pigment, which is ultraviolet light. A dark spot treatment used without daily sunscreen is not less effective. It is wasted. The serum lifts pigment overnight and an unprotected day at the equator puts it straight back.

Kenya makes that hard to dodge. We are on the equator, Nairobi sits near eighteen hundred metres, and less ultraviolet is filtered out than in the countries where most skincare advice is written. UVA passes through cloud, through a matatu window and through office glass, and UVA is the part most involved in pigmentation.

So if your budget covers one thing this month, buy the sunscreen rather than the serum: it does the more important job, costs less, and protects everything else you own. Our Sunfair page is the place to start, and Pigmentbio Daily Care SPF 50+ is the same brand as this serum. We stock both, so we have no reason to steer you either way.

Where This Dark Spot Serum Genuinely Earns Its Place

You already wear sunscreen daily. The marks you want gone are settled ones — brown shadows left by spots that healed months ago, by shaving bumps, by ingrown hairs, by an old scratch. They are flat and not spreading. You have tried a soap or a cream and got a little improvement, then nothing more.

That is where a concentrated serum is the right next step, because it puts several pigment-acting ingredients on the skin at once. The combination is the point: single-ingredient products stall because pigment is made, moved and retained by different mechanisms.

The Mistake That Makes This Serum Cause Dark Marks

On melanin-rich skin, irritation makes pigment. Anything that inflames the skin leaves a dark mark that outlasts whatever caused it, often by months. It is also why marks last so long here: the new skin under a healed spot has not rebuilt its defences, and much of the mark is made after healing, by sun falling on it.

Which sets a trap for this product. Three acids used every night from the first night, because the box said every evening, produce stinging, then tightness, then flaking, then inflammation — and that inflammation leaves exactly the mark you bought the serum to fade. The cream did not fail. It was used too hard. Going slowly is not the cautious option here, it is the option that works. So build up, and treat stinging that does not settle, flaking, or skin tight five minutes after washing as a signal to drop back a step.

What Not to Use It With, Including Two Products We Sell

Not on the same night as a retinol cream, so if you own our Herbella retinol cream, alternate them. Not stacked with another vitamin C product either — our Herbella vitamin C serum says twice daily, and that through the day plus this at night is vitamin C three times over alongside three acids. Pick one and keep it. And not with a separate exfoliant, scrub or home peel; before a professional peel, laser, threading or waxing, stop several days ahead and say you have been using acids.

What Is in It

The full list is on the carton. These decide what it does, and the last is the one to check if you react to things.

  • Ascorbyl glucoside — the stable vitamin C, released from the cap on first use
  • Azelaic acid — blocks the enzyme that produces pigment, and works on the acne behind many of these marks
  • Glycolic acid — an AHA that loosens pigmented surface cells so they shed
  • Salicylic acid — a BHA that works into the pore
  • Niacinamide — slows pigment transfer into skin cells and supports the barrier
  • Licorice root and andrographis — act on the pigment pathway and the irritation driving it
  • Fragrance — present, and the commonest reason a well-tolerated formula stings on one particular face

How to Use This Dark Spot Serum

The first step happens only once, and the last protects the other four.

  1. Activate it once, before first use. Press firmly on the cap with both thumbs to drop the vitamin C powder into the liquid, unscrew the white cap fully, fit the dropper and shake for ten seconds. Write the date on the box — once activated, vitamin C is on a clock
  2. Cleanse in the evening and pat dry. Not a scrub, not an antiseptic bar, not hot water
  3. Five drops over face and neck, avoiding the eyelids. Five is the whole dose; more fades nothing faster and reliably irritates
  4. Two or three nights a week to begin with, building to alternate nights and then, if the skin stays comfortable, to nightly
  5. Sunscreen every morning, including on cool and cloudy days. This is the step that decides whether the other four were worth doing

Which Pigmentbio Product Do You Actually Need?

We carry four products from this range. They are one routine rather than four alternatives, and buying the wrong one first is the commonest mistake.

Pigmentbio Daily Care SPF 50+ is the morning product, and the one to buy first if you are buying one. This C-Concentrate serum is the intensive evening treatment, used in courses, for marks already there. Pigmentbio Night Renewer is the gentler nightly cream, layered over this serum or replacing it between courses. Pigmentbio Sensitive Areas is for underarms and other thin-skinned places. Starting from nothing: sunscreen first, the serum in courses, then the night cream to hold what you gained.

Who Should Not Buy This

If your dark patches are symmetrical across both cheeks, forehead and upper lip and darken every time you are in the sun, that suggests melasma, which needs a doctor and strict sun protection rather than a cosmetic serum. If any patch is growing, changing shape or colour, bleeding, itching persistently or has an irregular border, do not treat it with anything. See a doctor.

And if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, react to fragrance, or the skin is broken or sunburnt, ask our pharmacist first.

Why Buy Your Dark Spot Serum from HealthAlone Kenya?

HealthAlone is a pharmacist-led health ecosystem licensed by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, and our stock is original, sealed and correctly stored. That matters more here than almost anywhere: brightening is the category where counterfeits turn up containing mercury or unlabelled steroids, and vitamin C degrades in heat and light, so where a bottle has been sitting is part of what you buy. You can also simply ask — bring us your current products, or a photograph of the labels, and we will tell you in two minutes whether they work together and whether the serum is the right buy at all.

We deliver across Kenya — Nairobi first, then Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Thika and beyond — and across East Africa to Tanzania and Uganda, with the wider African market where we are heading. Collect in person at Kahawa Sukari Shopping Center, Nairobi. Living abroad? Order online from the US or UK and we deliver to your family in Kenya.

It is one more step in our vision: building Africa’s most trusted health ecosystem, accessible to everyone, everywhere.

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon will I see a difference on my dark spots?

Give it four to six weeks before you judge it and three months before you decide it has done all it will do. Pigment fades slowly and unevenly. The honest way to check is a photograph taken in daylight on the day you start, compared with the same lighting six weeks later — day-to-day mirror comparisons tell you nothing, because the change is too gradual to see.

Can I use it every night from the start, like the box says?

We would not. It carries three acids, and on melanin-rich skin the irritation from going too fast makes new dark marks, which is the exact thing you are trying to remove. Start on two or three nights a week for a fortnight, move to alternate nights for a fortnight, and go nightly only if your skin stays comfortable. Many people get their result at alternate nights and stay there.

Is this a vitamin C serum? How does it compare with the Herbella vitamin C serum you sell?

It contains vitamin C, but the pigment work is mostly done by azelaic, glycolic and salicylic acids. The Herbella serum is a straightforward vitamin C product, gentler and cheaper, and it is the sensible starting point for someone who mainly wants brightness and antioxidant protection. This one is an intensive acid-based treatment for marks already set. Use one or the other, not both — stacking them gives no extra benefit and a good chance of irritation.

Price pls — and how long does one bottle last?

You will see the current price right on this page, always up to date. The more useful question is what it buys. At five drops a night this bottle runs roughly two months of nightly use, and considerably longer on the sensible alternate-night start or as a one-month course every three months. Worked out per night rather than per bottle it is a far less alarming number, and this is not a monthly purchase.

Will it lighten my skin?

No, and it is not meant to. It fades dark marks towards your own natural tone and evens things out. It will not make you lighter overall, and any product sold on that promise in this market is worth being suspicious of — that is the category where mercury and unlabelled steroids turn up.

Can I use it with my retinol cream?

Not on the same night. Alternate them, acids one night and retinol the next, with sunscreen daily throughout. Both speed up turnover, and together on melanin-rich skin they irritate reliably, which produces more marks rather than fewer.

Does it work on melasma?

Melasma is a different problem and it needs a doctor. If your patches are symmetrical across both cheeks, forehead or upper lip and worsen with sun exposure, see a dermatologist before spending money on serums. Some ingredients in this bottle are used in melasma care, but only as part of a supervised plan with very strict sun protection. On its own it will disappoint you.

Can I use it in the morning instead of at night?

No, evening only. The acids raise sun sensitivity and vitamin C degrades in light and heat, so a morning application gets you the risk without the benefit. Mornings belong to sunscreen.

I am pregnant. Can I use it?

Ask your doctor or our pharmacist first. Beyond the ingredients themselves there is a practical point worth knowing: pigmentation that appears on the face during pregnancy very often fades on its own over the months after delivery, so treating it then is frequently effort spent on something that was going to settle anyway.
