- The one capsule supplies: soy isoflavones 100mg, omega-3 fish oil 350mg providing DHA 155mg and EPA 33mg, vitamin C 100mg (125 per cent) and a further vitamin D3 10 micrograms or 400 IU (200 per cent).

What Osteocare Plus Does, Nutrient by Nutrient
Five of the nutrients in the tablet carry an approved European health claim for bone, which is a strong set for one formula.
Calcium is needed for the maintenance of normal bones and teeth, and contributes to normal muscle function, neurotransmission and blood clotting. At 800mg the two tablets carry a full daily reference intake. Magnesium contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth, to normal muscle and nervous system function, and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium, to normal blood calcium levels and to the maintenance of normal bones and muscle function. Zinc and manganese each contribute to the maintenance of normal bones in their own right.
Beyond bone, selenium contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, copper to the maintenance of normal connective tissues, and the vitamin C in the capsule to normal collagen formation for the normal function of bones and cartilage, which is a neat complement to the minerals in the tablet.
Soy isoflavones are plant compounds found naturally in soya beans, and this capsule carries 100mg of them. They are included here for women around and after the menopause, and that is the group the combination was built for.
Omega-3 fish oil supplies the long-chain fatty acids DHA and EPA, 155mg and 33mg per capsule. Fish oil is the best dietary source of both, and a daily capsule is a straightforward way to take them alongside the minerals.
How to Take Osteocare Plus
Two Osteocare tablets and one omega-3 capsule each day, with a main meal. Swallow each with water or a cold drink. The meal matters: most of the calcium here is calcium carbonate, which your stomach acid converts before it can be absorbed, and the omega-3 and the vitamin D are fat-soluble, so food helps both halves of the pack.
Take the two tablets together or one with each of two meals, whichever you will remember. The capsule goes with whichever meal suits you.
Leave about four hours between the tablets and certain medicines. Calcium binds thyroxine, iron tablets and several antibiotics in the gut, so taking them at the same time means the medicine absorbs poorly.
