Does Swallowing Glutathione Actually Work?
This is the fair question, because for years the accepted answer was no: glutathione is a small protein, and small proteins are broken up in the gut before they reach the blood.
A six-month trial in 54 adults changed that picture. Daily oral doses between 250mg and 1,000mg raised glutathione measurably in the blood, by roughly 17 to 30 per cent, with a much larger rise in the cells lining the mouth. So it is absorbed, and the 500mg in this capsule sits inside the range that was tested. What has not been shown is that raising those numbers translates into any particular outcome you can see or feel, and that is a different question from whether it gets in.
Glutathione and Skin Tone: the Honest Answer
The main human trial was 60 people taking 500mg a day for four weeks. Skin pigment was measured at six sites on the body, and it fell significantly at two of them: the face and the sun-exposed forearm. A review in 2026 called the findings significant but variable, and asked for larger and longer trials before anyone recommends it broadly.

A Warning About Injectable Glutathione
We do not supply glutathione injections or drips for skin lightening, and we would urge you not to have them anywhere else.
Regulators have flagged this specifically. The United States medicines regulator raised safety concerns in 2019 about compounding glutathione into sterile injections, noting there is no validated dosing framework for it. Philippine regulators, in a market where whitening drips are common, documented anaphylaxis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome — a severe and sometimes fatal skin reaction — and liver and kidney dysfunction, along with contamination risks from drips mixed outside proper sterile conditions. Both recommended avoiding the intravenous route altogether.
The capsule you are reading about is a food supplement taken by mouth and none of that applies to it. The warning is here because anyone searching for glutathione in this market will be offered the injection sooner or later, usually by someone with no pharmacy behind them.
Where It Genuinely Earns Its Place
As antioxidant and liver support during a demanding period — recovery from illness, a course of medicines that the liver has to process, a stretch of poor sleep and poor eating. Glutathione is also depleted by long-term alcohol use, and anyone in that position is better served by a conversation than by a supplement alone.
It will not cleanse a healthy liver, because a healthy liver is already doing that continuously and does not need help. It will not treat liver disease, and anyone with a diagnosed liver condition should be guided by their doctor rather than by a shelf.

Side Effects

Glutathione or NAC?
Both raise glutathione, by different routes. This capsule supplies the molecule itself. NAC supplies cysteine, the ingredient your body runs short of when it builds glutathione from scratch, which is why NAC is the better-studied route and costs less per month.
If your reason is chest and mucus, NAC is the one with the trial behind it. If your reason is antioxidant and liver support and you want the combination with milk thistle and alpha lipoic acid, this is the more complete formula.
